A common request in Microsoft Excel is to have drop-down menus that give you the cities, states, countries, companies, people, or any other list of entities you need to use automatically. So, for example, you can fill out a form and choose your state from a drop-down, rather than typing it out.
One piece of this puzzle is to have the entire list. In one text file, I’ve compiled alphabetical lists of the states and provinces, both written out and abbreviated. Also included in this file are all the countries in the world – one where the list is completely alphabetized, another where the US is at the top of the list.
